Is TV your Reality?

Hi All,
About three months ago, I began a little experiment at home.  I cut the cable.  I didn’t even buy a converter box.  To be certain, my new hubby and me get ZERO reception.
To be completely honest, we did keep my DVD collection, which is fairly substantial, but we don’t have a Netflix account or anything [...]

Internet access at home: Do you really need it?

Once upon a time everyone had land lines.  They were so common that people just called them “phones”, and they were considered necessary expenses.  Even after cell phones came out initially, most people kept the older “tethered” phones.  I remember seeing a story on the local news about this eccentric guy who ditched his land [...]

There are also Swap-a-dvd versions for books and for cd’s.
Now, this whole thing is based [...]

Getting your Caffeine Fix

I have been struggling with how to get my caffeine fix on campus.  My requirements are that the caffeine must be cheap and convenient.  Buying an energy drink is very convenient, but not cheap.  Bringing coffee from home is very cheap, but not at all convenient, as I am on campus for sometimes 12 hours and I [...]

Buy Less by Keeping Fashion Neutral

Here’s a money saving tip I use often: buying neutral-colored bags, clothes and other fashion-dependent items means you end up buying fewer of them.  Everything can be worn with everything else.  If you want to add bright colors, get colors that work well what is already in your wardrobe.  Trendy items are fun, but I [...]
